Reports To: Human Resources Manager
Location: New York, NY

Position Summary:

The Clearing House has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant at its midtown New York office. The position will support the human resources team. Candidates should be self-motivated, extremely well-organized and detail-oriented, collegial and able to function under pressure and handle numerous tasks simultaneously. The position would be well-suited to a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is both quick and meticulous. S/he must be able to take initiative, prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 0 to 2 years of experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word Processing, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Must have a professional demeanor and be able to effectively work with staff at all levels within the organization
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and see projects through to completion
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle conflicting priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidential information

Qualifications Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, human resources or related field
  • Experience with ADP

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for HR processes and projects related to benefits, compensation, performance management and employee relations
  • Coordinate meetings for the human resources department
  • Partner with HR Managers on recruiting efforts
  • Assist team with and coordinate company-wide and HQ events such as Philanthropy events, group community service days, quarterly employee appreciation day, and other events
  • Serve as backup receptionist
  • Maintain personnel records
  • Work on projects as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Travel between midtown and downtown offices will be required.
