Vice President, Network Operations

Position: Vice President, Network Operations
Reports To: SVP, Operations and Implementations
Location: New York, NY or Winston-Salem, NC

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Network Operations is responsible for 24/7 Data Center Operations, inclusive of mainframe and server operations, Customer Payment Systems support, management and monitoring of TCH production payment applications. This role also includes the managing and monitoring of payment systems settlements.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Candidate requires minimum 5+ years of experience managing data center operations
  • Relevant experience in Banking or Financial institutions 
  • Technical problem solving ability with Linux, IBM Aix, Windows and mainframes
  • Develops and conducts the annual Operational Impact Analysis and Risk Assessments
  • Provide guidance and management to the team responsible for DR, BCP and Contingency readiness
  • Monitor operational KPI and KRI metrics and address the necessary mitigation steps
  • Designs and conducts training sessions to provide employees with the specific information to perform roles and responsibilities in prevention, preparation, response and recovery
  • Coordinate and interface with all levels of management, including Product, ERM, CRM and Technology
  • Insures that his/hers Directors are providing proper support and coverage for 24/7 team
  • Meet or exceed all the necessary goals and objectives set by the annual corporate performance scorecard

Qualifications Desired:

  • IT Operational, metrics, and Information Technology background
  • Applied knowledge of operational processes and industry best practices
  • Applied knowledge of developing/redesigning processes and measuring effectiveness and efficiency
  • Understanding of the financial regulatory environment
  • Understanding of payments, ACH, CHIPS, IMAGE and/or RTP
  • Knowledge of MS office products
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in developing and documenting policies and procedures
  • Effectively plan and execute multiple projects at once, meeting established deadlines, with budget and achieving overall project objectives
  • Effective team building skills
  • Effective staff development approach and strategy
  • Ability to define problems and propose solutions
  • Extremely detail oriented with excellent organizational, follow-up, and analytical skills

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring high quality of service deliver and reliability of the systems supporting the internal and external customers of the firm
  • Manage the work efforts of Operations resources ensuring work is completed on schedule and that they meet TCH standards
  • Develop estimates and staffing allocations for assigned potential work efforts
  • Forecast and budgeting for department financials
  • Coordinate with other technology departments such as the EPMO, Development, DBA, Networking, Systems  Support, IT Security, Change Control, and Quality Control to update and transfer assignments accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing the approved Change Control system and processes
  • Prioritize multiple assigned work streams to best optimize resources to meet and maintain staff readiness
  • Partner with Incident and Problem teams to ensure resources are appropriately allocated to support the research and resolution of production incidents in a timely manner
  • Prepare written goal sheet and performance reviews for staff assigned, provide staff mentoring, coaching, and general personnel management
  • Development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking
  • The working environment is generally favorable
  • Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
  • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available
  • Ability to work extended hours and accommodate requests to travel between TCH offices and possibly vendors
