Change and Release Manager

Position: Change and Release Manager
Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: Dallas TX or Winston-Salem, NC

Position Summary:

The Change and Release Manager manages the planning and communication among The Clearing House internal teams by coordinating, reviewing and approving all changes and releases. This includes scheduling, staging and implementation of all changes and releases throughout TCH environments with a focus on mitigating risk, protecting service availability, and preventing change collision. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change and release management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The Change and Release manager ensures standardized methods; processes and procedures are followed when introducing changes and new application releases to TCH environments. Additionally, the Change Manager actively identifies service improvements which further strengthen our Change and Release Management programs. The Change and Release Manager is responsible for reporting the weekend High Risk change maintenance windows.

Qualifications Required:

  • ITIL Foundation v3 Certification
  • 5+ Years’ experience designing and executing Change Management processes
  • 5+ Years’ experience with Release management processes
  • 5+ Years’ experience with an IT Service Management ticketing system
  • 3+ Years’ Service Now Experience 
  • Must be process driven, detail oriented and organized in both thought and practice 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must have a professional demeanor and be able to effectively work with internal and external customers, vendors and staff

Qualifications Desired:

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle conflicting priorities
  • Excellent time managements skills
  • Experience with TCH technologies 
  • Evidence of strong documentation skills
  • Project management and MS Office experience 
  • Knowledge of various IS platforms and software, such as Mainframe, Windows, UNIX, Networking, SaaS, PaaS
  • Experience with hybrid cloud-based change management 
  • Experience with Udeploy or similar release management software experience

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct bi-weekly Change Advisory Board Meetings
  • Ensure all processes and policies pertaining to Change and Release Management are up-to-date and followed 
  • Review Change Tickets for accuracy, required fields, and appropriate timelines and descriptions
  • Review Release tickets for accuracy and ensure required documentation is attached 
  • Consult, Coach, and support  Change Stakeholders 
  • Ensure processes and procedures are up to date
  • Prepare reports and metrics pertaining to change management
  • Ensure ticket workflows and lifecycles are followed according to the Change Management Framework and Policy
  • Work with Product and O&T teams to review and discuss Maintenance Windows

Performance Standards:

  • Performance is evaluated twice per year through a mid-year review and an annual review

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
