All About the Check
Here is how your organization can benefit from becoming an ECCHO member:
Support: ECCHO is a trusted resource for check-related questions, providing information and assistance for "what do I do when" scenarios. Note: Information provided by ECCHO regarding check issues does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such.
Education: Access live and recorded education from industry experts on various check topics, including check basics, fraud and exceptions management, warranty breaches, direct dealing, and Remote Deposit Capture risk. The National Check Payments Certification (NCPC) helps institutions develop knowledge to combat check fraud (available at member-discounted pricing).
Advocacy: ECCHO supports the check industry by advocating on legal and regulatory issues, providing a forum for discussion, liaising with key organizations, and promoting the efficiency of the check image payment system.
Connection: Providing your organization's contact information grants access to the ECCHO Exception Contact Directory, which contains direct contact information for other ECCHO members to quickly resolve check exceptions. This directory also includes submission information specific to Rule 9 claims, which are exclusively available between ECCHO Members.
ECCHO Rules: Member-designed electronic check exchange rules establish clear standards for image exchange and are updated by the membership to reflect ongoing changes in the check environment. The rules also feature unique elements and related commentary that describes their purpose and provides examples of application in hypothetical situations. Members who agree to exchange check images with another member must abide by the ECCHO Rules, which helps eliminate the need for executing multiple customized bilateral agreements.
