VP Infrastructure Program Manager

Position: VP Infrastructure Program Manager
Reports To: SVP, Systems Administration
Location: Dallas TX, New York, NY, or Winston-Salem, NC

Position Summary:

The Infrastructure Program Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and close-out of cloud and digital transformation by providing leadership and guidance to the RTP and cross border switch development efforts as a technical liaison. In this role Infrastructure Program Manager would be representing the infrastructure team partnering with the application, security, architecture, and operational teams to ensure an optimal and aligned solution that achieves both tactical and strategic organizational goals. The program manager must be able to build and drive operational excellence in support of the organization’s overall growth and success. A program manager should have excellent leadership skills and should be able to work with different teams and organizations across the business.

Qualifications Required:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, MIS or equivalent 
  • 5-10 years as an infrastructure subject matter expert in IT/financial services 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (between NYC, NC and TX) 
  • Strong facilitation skills with working committees and steering committees 
  • Very good knowledge within the Infrastructure ecosystem in execution of implementation initiatives, capacity management efforts, and design of high availability and backup & recover solutions
  • Positive track record of delivering large scale complex projects & initiatives 
  • Ability to communicate with highly technical/quantitative as well as non-technical partners

Qualifications Desired:

  • Master’s degree or education/training/certification in an IT related field 
  • Technical Project and\or Product Management Experience
  • Proficient with the MS Office Suite with a focused ability to create concise and compelling presentations in PowerPoint in a demanding and quick paced environment 
  • Collaborative team player that connects across groups with proven ability to influence stakeholders 
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence anticipating needs, mitigating risks and minimizing challenges
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Communicates crisply and candidly
  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure disciplines and functions 
  • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions

  • Experience working across large infrastructure environments and distributed across multiple data centers  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support all aspects of consistent management capabilities across datacenter and cloud environments including identity & management, security, data protection and encryption, policy governance and compliance oversight, configuration management, container/package/app deployment methodology, automation/orchestration, monitoring & alerting, cloud cost management and oversight
  • Work with other technical staff to coordinate activities and implementations, follow and document procedures, respond, track, and escalate systems incident
  • Follow change management and configuration management procedures and guidelines
  • Serve as technical lead /mentor /representative and provide technical guidance and mentorship
  • Serve as representative for all technical issues/discussion with peer support teams
  • Manage and delegate daily technical group tasks and efforts to appropriate staff/skills
  • Provide oversight for technical deployment plans and system utilization reports
  • Extensive knowledge of core infrastructure components such as high availability/federation/replication
  • Provide assistance and problem support to infrastructure partners, application developers, business analysts and business users while assessing impacts and communicating effectively
  • Recommend innovative solutions aligned with the organizational initiatives and recognized problem areas 
  • Architect, deploy and champion adherence of an enterprise approach facilitating best practice methodologies to stakeholders across the estate
    Ensure synchronicity between application lifecycle environments related to infrastructure components
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure the continuity of the applications related to upgrades, versions, patches, and new releases
  • Collaborate with the Architecture department to ensure products and projects align to the TCH Reference Architecture guidelines
  • Create, maintain and present detailed technical documentation and executive summaries for key stakeholders, including senior management
  • Ability to facilitate productive meetings at the work group and steering committee levels of TCH 
  • Executes the proper risk/issue disciplines to deliver the best outcomes for our customers, clients, and shareholders and to protect our company’s reputation 
  • Driving consensus and resolving conflicts quickly 
  • Thinking broadly about interdependencies 
  • Establishing and maintaining program management standards, tools and routines including but not limited to: 
    • Capacity planning and forecasting 
    • Structuring of programs and projects 
    • Governance and control 
    • Aggregate portfolio/program reporting 
    • Ability to create work materials in a timely manner
  • Additional responsibilities include: 
    • Work closely with internal and external partners to guarantee continuous infrastructure availability 
    • Suggest and implement continuous improvement, automation efforts across the enterprise
    • Provide technical advice and industry best practices as first contact to stakeholders and clients pertaining to enterprise infrastructure related requests
    • Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned
    • Serve as technical lead/mentor/representative and act as proxy for manager when required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
