The National Check Payments (NCP) Certification is a premier accreditation which enables career enhancement opportunities for the payment professional who earns and maintains it through the continuing education program.
This national certification is open to all individuals across the U.S. When considering the National Check Professional Certification (NCPC), ECCHO recommends at minimum at 2+ years’ experience in the financial services industry and a desire to gain experience in the field of check.

NCP Exam Checklist
Successful candidates possess:
- 2+ years experience in the financial services industry
- A desire to gain expertise in the field of check
- Supportive experience: check or image operations, treasury, product, ACH, fraud and/or risk

The NCP Program is the first national accreditation of its kind to provide online proctoring. The links below provide in-depth information about OnVue Online.
The NCP Exam will cover four main categories and associated knowledge areas related to check payments. These also provide the guidelines for determining eligibility of program topics for the NCP Continuing Education (CE) credits.

It is intended to enhance the knowledge of candidates and develop professional check experts that will improve customer service and value to an institution, improve audit performances and provide professional and dedicated industry leaders.
The Exam is a 3-hour computer based online exam with 120 multiple choice questions (only 100 are scored). The final scoring is based on an accumulated total of all the Exam questions.
