Q.) We used to order the Corporate Edition of the ACH Rules on CD and mail them to our Originators every year, but we no longer have the option either. How are other financial institutions handling the change?.
A.) Most of our financial institution members have purchased access codes to the NACHAOperatingRulesOnline.org website for their origination customers and we recommend that you do the same. The full edition of the 2019 ACH Rules includes the information your Originators need to operate in compliance with the ACH Rules, thanks to specific sections that clearly define the responsibilities for each ACH payment system participant.
As for the CDs being discontinued, more and more companies are getting away from CD and DVD drives on corporate laptops for security purposes. NACHA recognized this and realized it was time to provide electronic access for those who prefer something other than the book, and product prices have been adjusted as a result of this change. Financial institutions who purchase in bulk for their ACH Origination customers will receive an email with a spreadsheet attached that includes their access codes (estimating mid-December delivery). A sample email message will be included that you can customize and send to your Originators.
