Q and A
Q.)  An RDFI notices on the exception report a Credit Entry where the account number has an invalid account number structure. What is the time frame to return the unposted/rejected entry?
A.)  The Return Entry must be available to the ODFI by no later than opening of business on the second banking day following the settlement date of the Original Entry. If the Entry is past the Return time frame, the RDFI should contact the ODFI for resolution. Source: Nacha Operating Rules and Guidelines Section 3.1.2, Section 3.8
