Position: Director, ECCHO
Reports To: Chief of Staff, External Affairs & Board Relations
Location: Dallas TX, New York, NY, Winston-Salem, NC, Troy, MI, or Remote

Position Summary:

Director and senior manager for a nationally-recognized membership organization specializing in providing industry rules and governance for check image exchange, industry education and advocacy for the financial services industry. Serves as the principal manager of the organization’s National Check Professional (NCP) certification program and a key manager in ECCHO delivering educational programming to the organization’s approximately 2,500 members. Further, provides additional content knowledge and support within the organization in terms of providing support to the organization’s members, assisting in the management of the rules process, and promoting the organization within the industry.   

Qualifications Required:

  • Self-motivated professional able to work independently to achieve annual and long-range goals
  • Subject matter expert on issues relating to electronic checks and be able to address members' questions on rules, regulations and complex operational scenarios
  • NCP (National Check Professional) credential required
  • Possess effective writing, presentation and public speaking skills to enable participation in various industry meetings and partners' conferences and events as well as skill with development and delivery of training programs in various formats (in-person, teleconference, webinar, etc.)
  • Possess a thorough understanding of unique approach required to motivate and support adult professional learners
  • Have the ability to develop, manage and deliver content-rich, high quality educational programs focusing on all aspects of check payments including the ECCHO Operating Rules, membership considerations, the general regulatory environment and other industry initiatives
  • Possess the ability to manage contract review, milestone management and ongoing interaction with program consultants in order to deliver annual exam for nationally recognized payments accreditation program
  • Have the ability to develop marketing support with review of content for various public outreach campaigns promoting rules, membership and all educational products
  • Proficiency with MS-Office suite including Word, PowerPoint and EXCEL
  • Average business travel requirement (25% annually)
  • Marketing/exhibit booth support at various industry conferences (4 - 6 times annually)

Qualifications Desired:

  • Additional payments industry certifications beyond the NCP a plus, but not required, including: AAP - Accredited ACH Professional, CTP - Certified Treasury Professional, APRP - Accredited Payments Risk Professional
  • Familiarity with common web-based training tools including:
    • WebEx, GoToWebinar and other online delivery applications
    • ClassMarker and other on line quiz tools
    • Microsoft Publisher

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to colleagues in addressing member questions, engaging in industry outreach, developing materials and content, and in managing member needs
  • Manage all aspects of national accreditation program that, to date, has 2,400 applicants, 1,600 exam candidates, and nearly 1,000 certified National Check Professionals (NCPs) from both member and non-member organizations
  • Manage the development and promotion of all continuing education options including development and delivery of three (3) annual workshops to support a diverse group of NCPs
  • Possess the ability to develop, manage and deliver annual in-depth Class Instructor Certification program that to date has certified nearly 50 partners' trainers in NCP Core Training materials related to:
    • Industry image exchange rules
    • Check payments regulations and guidance
    • Fraud and risk mitigation
    • Check operations and products
  • Have a demonstrated ability to use education as a marketing tool and membership benefit to expand the organization's visibility across the industry focusing on financial institutions of all sizes from credit unions and community banks to the largest super-regional banks

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
