Director, Innovation – Program Management

Position: Director, Innovation – Program Management
Reports To: SVP, Product Innovation
Location: New York, NY, Winston-Salem, NC, or Dallas TX

Position Summary:

The Director, Innovation – Program Management will apply program management, strategy, analytical, and risk management skills to drive strategy and execute on high priority enterprise level initiatives that will deliver on company goals. This role is responsible for leading programs and projects, ideate on new concepts, perform analysis, and work with the organization to drive a plan to implementation of new ideas.  

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 10 years of experience across Program and Project Management, Strategy and Management or Consulting in financial services 
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a program office for multiple work streams
  • Strong foundation in business and data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across different functions and seniority
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Team player
  • Must be a self-starter, comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Understanding of the banking and payments industry

Qualifications Desired:

  • Masters / MBA degree preferred
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • 3-5 years of experience on a team driving innovation in the financial services industry

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple projects related to the broader innovation agenda
  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to ideation, analysis, design and planning around new concepts
  • Manage key consulting engagements/resources associated with delivery of programs
  • Managing program communications with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
  • Work with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to help validate concepts 
  • Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and achieve schedules

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Travel may be required.
