Senior Architect Lead

Position: Senior Architect Lead
Reports To: Chief Architect
Location: Dallas TX, New York, NY, or Winston-Salem, NC

Position Summary:

The Senior Architect Lead - Solutions Architect is a key member of the TCH Enterprise Architecture team and is responsible for the overall design of complex systems and mapping business requirements to systems/technical requirements. The Solution Architect works as a team member supporting one or more Product initiatives with the goal of delivering complete solutions that support the TCH product strategy. Technology domains will include traditional distributed on premise environments as well as Cloud hosted IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS deployment models.

Qualifications Required:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred  
  • 5+ years of experience architecting/designing/developing solutions (software and infrastructure) for the financial industry sector (payments experience highly desirable)
  • 2+ years of experience designing solutions for Cloud deployment with one or more of the major Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Strong skills using UML diagrams to document architectures and designs for complex systems
  • Strong ability to translate business/functional/non-functional requirements into detailed architectures/designs
  • Experience using mainstream enterprise class technologies/programming languages such as:
    • Java/JEE, C++, Python
    • DB2/Oracle/SQL Server
    • Red Hat Open Shift
    • IBM WAS, JBOSS AP, IBM MQ, API Connect
    • Linux and variants
    • LDAP variants
    • AWS common services (e.g. EC2, S3, etc.) 
  • Solid knowledge of security architectural patterns for enterprise/web applications including B2B scenarios
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of web-based systems architecture and service-based architecture
  • Should have participated in and be familiar with common Software Development Lifecycle methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the various phases of project initiatives providing technical expertise regarding architectural design and overall solution design
  • Produce project technical artifacts as required to fully document solution designs
  • Review architectures and designs to ensure alignment with TCH standards
  • Collaborate with other TCH technical groups such as Information Security, Operations, etc. to ensure architectures and designs meet applicable standards  

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
