Position Summary:

RTP launched in November 2017 and is the preeminent new payments system in the US. Its core design supports on-going financial innovation to the benefit of the US economy – a safer, faster, smarter way to pay.

As an RTP Product Executive you will have primary responsibility to drive on-going evolution of the platform and its adoption by US depository financial institutions. You will lead and partner with a highly capable team of professionals who engage in all aspects of payment system management, product development and innovation, technical roadmap, operations, system rules, legal, risk and regulatory engagement.

Success requires broad and deep understanding of the payments business in the US and internationally. Excellent communication and leadership skills combined with pragmatic and effective problem-solving capabilities.  You will work intimately with constituent FI’s, leading innovators and technical enablers to the industry. As a key market-facing advocate for RTP it is essential that the candidate possess high credibility within the industry and be well-versed in broader ecosystem developments to positively position RTP and TCH.

The Senior Vice President, RTP Product Development & Strategy manages all aspects of product development, deployment and management of new products focusing on the RTP® network and any future product offerings as needed.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, or related field; MBA preferred
  • At least 15 years of executive product development experience or equivalent experience

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises RTP Product Management & Development group
    • Recruit, develop and manage the RTP Product Management team
      • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with TCH policies
    • Manage RTP Operating Platform Collaboration with O&T and Vendors
      • Coordinate development and operation of the RTP production platform and related systems
    • Collaborate with other product and O&T managers on enterprise-wide efforts
  • Manage Portfolio of Product Offerings
    • Oversee management of the relevant product portfolios including market assessments and positioning, competitor profiles, customer profiles, product features and pricing, mitigation paths, risk assessment, message strategy, and performance metrics
    • Document the relevant products annual product plan, including customer targets and sales and pricing strategies, revenue estimates, market strategy, market strategy, Industry activity, investment costs and more
    • Manage implementation budget and on-going product profit and loss
  • Analyze Market and Related Trends
    • Identify areas where the relevant products are actively used/unused to analyze the size and scope of the markets
    • Identify and present related global market trends and needs
    • Develop positioning strategies based upon market and related trend analysis
  • New Product Ideation, Development and Commercialization
    • Partner with the Customer Relations Management (CRM) team and third parties to meet the needs of clients
    • Document relevant products ideas/enhancements from across the organization and industry using the new product ideation framework
    • Analyze market space and unmet needs to determine revenue potential of new ideas
    • Collaborate across the Company to gather estimated costs to implement new ideas
    • Collaborate across the Company to ensure business requirements for the relevant products are successfully incorporated into the IT/Operations platform
    • Collaborate across the Company to ensure the relevant products achieve successful commercial deployment
    • Lead implementation of new products
  • Manage TCH Enterprise Innovation Function
    • Manage team that serves internal and external clients seeking to use cross-product TCH capabilities to create innovative product offerings
    • Oversee the development, deployment, and operation of a test-bed facility to expose TCH capabilities to internal and external clients developing innovative product offerings
  • Industry Relations & Collaboration
    • Lead engagement with the financial services industry and relevant regulatory agencies to support RTP® network and other related TCH offerings
    • Lead collaborative initiatives with other market infrastructure & service providers to create innovative solutions that leverage TCH & partner capabilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. 
  • Significant business travel is required with this position.
