Payments Associations Launch Center for Payment
Collaborative Program Strives to Prepare Members for Evolving Payments Landscape

Eleven payments associations representing over 10,000 financial institution members, businesses and stakeholders, recently announced a new program to advance the payments industry through joint development of market intelligence and thought leadership. The Clearing House Payments Authority (TCHPA) is one of these associations. The Center for Payments™ was formed with the common belief that dynamic changes in the payments industry requires improved insights to aid payment systems participants and help inform decisions to evolve and grow payments capabilities. By developing and gathering market intelligence, the Center for Payments will generate actionable data for decision-making that can be used by all members of the participating associations, especially small and mid-sized financial institutions that may not have access to this type of market intelligence.

Nominations Open for 2019 Lakin-Hobday Award

Do you know someone who enthusiastically embraces their payments career and deserves to be recognized for their efforts? Nominations are now being accepted for the 3rd Annual Lakin-Hobday Award.

The Lakin-Hobday Award recognizes the extraordinary contributions and characteristics of successful payments professionals and the first recipients of the prestigious award were none other than its namesakes. Linda Lakin (now retired from Comerica Bank) and Donna Hobday (Century Bank & Trust) proved time and again that they possess the qualities associated with the payments excellence award by volunteering to serve on committees and workgroups (at the local and national level), supporting and mentoring their peers, and continually lending their time and expertise when asked to participate in events beyond the walls of their regular work world.

Members of The Clearing House Payments Authority are invited to nominate individuals who possess the qualities associated with this award by sending an email to education.services@theclearinghouse.org and including 'Lakin-Hobday Nomination' in the subject line. Tell us why you think your nominee deserves to win and provide examples of their commitment to the payments industry, influence, leadership and volunteerism.

The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, August 16, 2019 and the winner will be announced in early October.
