We Get Questions...

Q.) We have a business account holder who wrote a check (without an auxiliary on-us field) to a company. That company converted the check to a CCD transaction. Would that be within the rules?

A.) Although business checks under $25,000 without an auxiliary on-us field can be converted to a POP, ARC or BOC transaction, the ACH Rules do not allow for these paper checks to be converted to RCK or CCD transactions. With this in mind, the transaction can be returned R11 (Customer Advises Entry Not in Accordance with the Terms of the Authorization). Nacha Rule Change Spotlight: Expanding Same Day ACH

On March 19, 2021, the ACH Network expands access to Same Day ACH by allowing SDA transactions to be submitted for an additional two hours each business day through a new, third processing window. This will allow Same Day ACH files to be submitted until 4:45pm ET (1:45 pm PT), providing greater access for Originating Depository Financial Institutions (ODFIs) and their account holders.
